Ettlingen troop at final performance of Half Broke Horses
(Ettlingen, Ingrid Rilling/Rg). Last Friday, 9th March, it was again time for the teachers in Ettlingen and their Advanced Level pupils to see the American Drama Group performance of the play ‘Half Broke Horses’, based on the novel by the American author and journalist Jeannette Walls about the life of her grandmother Lily. With only two actresses and two actors, all of whom were convincing and talented in acting and singing, important scenes and their historical backgrounds were presented using few but very imaginative means. The experiences Lily’s sister had in Hollywood made holding up a #MeToo sign appropriate and up-to-date. This did not go unnoticed. For us all, the afternoon was certainly an entertaining and amusing revision of the novel relevant for the last time for the Abitur in English.
